ANDREW DOMINIK | BIO
Andrew Dominik is widely recognised as one of Australia’s most exciting and distinctive directorial talents.

After graduating from Swinburne film School, Andrew quickly established his reputation as an innovative director with a striking visual style. One of his first commercials, a Powerade spot for the Australian market, was chosen to promote the product in the US where it first screened at the Superbowl. It went on to win America’s most coveted advertising award, the Gold Mobius. His TVC for Levis courted controversy but is still referenced by many in the industry as a stand out commercial of the last decade.

Andrew’s reputation reached new heights in 2000 following the breakout success of his debut feature film Chopper. Always respected for his dexterity in post-production and visual effects, Chopper proved Andrew was also uncommonly gifted at creating arresting characters. The film was a critical and commercial success, taking top spot at the Australian box office and winning Andrew a swag of awards and a reputation in international film circles.

Andrew then went on to direct the highly acclaimed The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (starring Casey Affleck and Brad Pitt). He is currently in development on a film based on Marilyn Monroe’s life Blonde, starring Naomi Watts.
